“As seldom as I ride my bike as long as I change the oil regularly any brand is OK” – Not at all true! Keep reading but aside from protection under brutal circumstances per our customers using anything other than AMSOIL you miss out on the full performance potential of the bike. This potential is not just hard accelerating but even the most economy minded motorcyclist will notice how smooth things have become. It’s amazing just how improved the ride and throttle become with a true engineered for bikes synthetic!

10W-40 Motorcycle Reduces Friction, Heat and Wear

In high heat conditions, AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil exceeds the standard for high-temperature film strength to deliver excellent wear protection. It keeps engines running cool by effectively reducing friction and heat, and it contains a heavy treatment of anti-wear additives to reduce wear regardless of operating conditions. AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil is thermally (heat) stable and contains maximum levels of oxidation-inhibitor additives. It is extremely resistant to volatility and is engineered to prevent damaging sludge and carbon deposits for superior engine cleanliness.

Experience Smooth, Confident Shifts with AMSOIL’s Metric 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil

AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil contains no friction modifiers and promotes smooth shifting and positive clutch engagement. It is engineered to control heat and prevent slippage and glazing, promoting longer clutch life.

Controls Foam

High-rpm operation causes some motor oils to foam. When foam bubbles travel between gear teeth or engine components, they collapse, allowing metal surfaces to contact, causing wear. AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil contains advanced anti-foam additives that help prevent foam, allowing riders to confidently push their bikes to the limit.

  • Premium wear protection
  • Smooth, confident shifts
  • Cool, clean performance

AMSOIL MCF is multi-functional and fulfills the requirements of both domestic and foreign motorcycles. It outperforms other conventional and synthetic motorcycle oils.
AMSOIL, the leader in synthetic lubrication, produced the world’s first API qualified synthetic motor oil in 1972. Trust the extensive experience of AMSOIL The First in Synthetics® to do the best job protecting your motorcycle.

High Temperature Viscosity Protection

Delivers Superior Rust and Corrosion protection – No other 10W-40 motorcycle oil feels the need to!

Motorcycles are prone to rust from storage, humidity and short drives. Rust can cause major damage, such as uncontrolled wear, compression loss and blow-by. Good rust protection, however, comes by design and is not natural to motor oils. Unlike many motorcycle oils, AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil contains special anti-rust agents that deliver superior rust protection. With its high 11.1 total base number (TBN), AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil provides greater protection from acid corrosion and helps maintain internal engine cleanliness.

APPLICATIONS

AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil is engineered for motorcycles that require 10W-40 motorcycle oil, including those made by Can-Am, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Can-Am and BMW. And of course in other motorcycles where 10W-40 motorcycle oil is required. And yes 20W-40 if not available no problems at all using 10W-40. Really the listing and manufacture of a 20W-40 is only for a companies own marketing purposes. There is one reason a 20W-40 is better than 10W-40 but that only applies with a non-synthetic.

Recommended for transmissions requiring an API GL-1 fluid. Not recommended where an API GL-4 or GL-5 gear oil is required.

  • API SM, JASO MA/MA2

Reviews of the Metric 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil

My 39 year old Honda loves this stuff..

This stuff stands up to the Pepsi challenge and eats it up for breakfast ! Lasts a long time with super smooth shifts yet zero slippage of the clutch. Engine seems to really like this stuff. Price with shipping and dollar conversion (Canada) is very reasonable I get the 3.78 liter jug as my bike takes 3.2 liters per oil change. I only use Amsoil Metric 10-40 in my 1984 Honda V65 Sabre VF1100.

I’ve been using it for years

I got turned on to Amsoil sometime in 2017 by a friend of mine who was a motorcycle mechanic. The first time I put it in my bike, I couldn’t believe how much better it ran. I’ve been using it ever since in my bike and my wife’s bike, and it’s made them run smooth as glass.

10-30 Metric

I ride a 2002 Honda Saber 1100. I have used Amzoil in here for two years. The Saber is notorious for noisy lifters. I have tried different oils and weights to quiet them and Amzoil is the best. This a secondary benefit the real benefit is its lubrication. Two years and 16000 miles ago I lost oil and pressure and ran the bike for some time before I knew what happened. I was concerned that irreparable damage may have been done, but I fixed the leak an it is running fine after 16000 miles. I believe a regular oil wouldn’t have given me this result. I really believe Amzoil is worth the cost and won’t run anything else.

Great Value

Been using this in my GL1800 for the past 5 years. Quits down the engine and keeps the engine running smoothly and keeps the wear down.

I love using Amsoil makes the bikes run smoother, and hopefully last a lot longer.

Found this one on a Yamaha V-Max forum:

I switched over to Amsoil 10×40 full synthetic at 2500 miles and also changed out the rear gear oil from the special synthetic Yamaha brand to the AMSOil Severe Gear 75×90 synthetic gear oil which surpasses every other brand of synthetic gear oil in overall tests as you can read within an independent white paper at Gear Oil White Paper. My 09 VMAX runs smother on the AMSOil and shifts quieter and smoother. The Amsoil Sever Gear runs perfect and is also quieter. I am sure that also any of the better synthetics like Mobil 1 and others will perform better than any of the Yamaha stuff. I simply like the Amsoil products better and use them in all 6 of my motorcycles. Since I had an Engine Oil temp gauge on my Rocket III, the AMSOil 10×40 actually ran 10 to 15 degrees cooler in my Triumph Rocket III over the original Triumph brand which was actually nothing but re-labeled Mobil 1. Engine Oil averaged 170-180 degrees with AMSOil and averaged 180-200 degrees with Triumph Synthetic (Mobil 2).

Thanks,
Rick
