10W-30 Diesel Oil is Becoming the Dominant Viscosity for Modern Diesels

More consistent oil pressure, less volatility

A newer product many don’t know we have. In our Signature Series Diesel line (25,000 miles light duty, 60,000 miles OTR) it’s the best choice for decades of Ford diesels which have 10W-30 (or 5W-30) listed in the owners manual. A MUST for older 6.0 and 6.4 and the main suggestion for all new and current Ford diesels. This also adds life to fuel pumps. Read more on the Signature Series 10W-30 Max Duty page.

Viscosity Control

Using top-tier synthetic base oils, the Signature Series Max-Duty is naturally resistant to oxidation and the thickening effects of soot contamination. That, along with boosted detergent/dispersant additives, keeps soot particles suspended independently, helping prevent the formation of larger, wear-causing particles. Viscosity increase is minimized and soot-related wear is controlled. Lower volatility also helps Signature Series retain its viscosity after high-temperature service for maximum engine protection and efficiency. Couple with our diesel fuel additives and watch your regen frequency decrease significantly. Buy in-store by the case or call directly 800-579-0580 to save over online pricing!

Actually 10W-30 is an old standard for diesels

Yes, much of the older hard working off-road gear always has called for 10W-30 but once diesels were made for more horsepower and higher engine speeds 15W-40 became the standard. The main issue was with long term use and fuel working its way into the crankcase to keep up protection as the engine would wear. But the new technology in lubricants and engines have been able to switch back to 10W-30 and 5W-30 to maximize fuel efficiency while actually boosting protection. AMSOIL takes this to the next level of course which you can see and feel both seat of the pants and in your pocket book.

AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty 10W-30 has a low rate of volatility (burn-off), reducing oil consumption during operation and passing less oil vapor into the combustion chamber. It provides up to 76 percent less oil consumption than required by the API CK-4 standard in the Caterpillar-1N oil consumption test.

More savings from our Heavy Duty Line

If you are changing at OEM intervals or you don’t drive much – try the AMSOIL Heavy Duty line. Costs less and can go twice as long with oil analysis.
