Getting set up for an outdoors and hunting show.Trade Shows: Simple way to earn new customers. The demand for AMSOIL is the reason people often just come right up to our table and ask for dealer, preferred customer, or retail information. We are now setting these up with our dealers across the country to help. It’s probably the best way to grow this business fast. Starting in 2005 we are getting off to a good start assisting our dealers with listings on this site and traveling to split display booths. We just returned from a pheasant and hunting accessories show in Omaha, then the enormous boat and outdoors show in Cincinnati. AMSOIL is reaching in all areas and for 2005 the demand continues with ATVs, diesels, motorcycles and now class 7 and 8 vehicles.

Internet: Do you work full time and spend most of your time in the office? Do you frequent automotive forums? Are you in a car, boat or motorcycle club where you discuss relevant subjects with your peers? This is where you will earn a permanent score of customers, preferred customers (order direct w/o maintenance), and dealers. It is very easy to start making a couple hundred dollars monthly right off the bat this way. I worked for ATT for 4 years and built this business while I worked in my cube via the forums I sponsored and linked people to my AMSOIL site. Soon you can start your own AMSOIL Website. We have four ways to get you on the internet free and these methods require nothing from you except for your contact information. One of these has been so effective, our top dealer doesn’t have a website at all. All of his business has been generated from the combination of free listings and my leads. Commercial Opportunities:  In my opinion the easiest way to expand and enjoy your business is through Commercial accounts you work yourself. Business are always trying to lower overhead costs and reduce the workload. Any opportunity a firm can avoid equipment replacement costs or down time due to maintenance and repairs, they will be much obliged. You will have the solution to their lubricant related problem. AMSOIL has just added new Field Service Tools to help you present these solutions. Take for example a small lawn care business with a variety of 2-cycle equipment and several trucks. Or a tour bus company who spends $5,000 to $20,000 more than they need to be yearly on maintenance and over-priced transmission fluid.
Personally, my business is made up of mostly private contractor accounts (Roofing, pool companies, plumbing fleets) and small to large manufacturing plants. The manufacturing plants include a variety of chemical processors for the petrochemical industry, wood pulp plants, ash furnace equipment, wood mills and one company who builds truck beds and utility truck parts.

One of the most successful dealers has only been active for about 6 years and has over 100 commercial accounts within a 10 mile radius from his home. He doesn’t have a website but is one of the top dealers as these accounts really flock to AMSOIL when they find out what we have to offer.

Retail Opportunities : The most common question I get from customers and at trade shows is, “Where can I find AMSOIL, Who sells it?” Something every dealer can do is set up any retail (auto parts) or service center to carry Hey, that guy sell's AMSOIL. Didn't you say you needed some for your work truck? AMSOIL products. Like the Commercial Account there is special pricing for them. One example would be a motorcycle and watercraft shop. Most customers are shocked to see AMSOIL on the shelves. We also have a attractive program for Quick Lubes and other similar service oriented retail locations. AMSOIL does very well in these shops. ** Lately I am signing up new dealers that want to join because they own a shop or have leads on those that do and want to carry AMSOIL. If I have a dealer with experience with one type of shop I will share the method with you. I get phone calls weekly thanks to this website, from businesses wanting to stock AMSOIL. It’s absolutely incredible! Because of new emission requirements, engine manufactures are specifying the use of synthetics which is driving the growth and demand. No other lubricant manufacturer has the products we do with additives so effective and the support AMSOIL dealers provide, so the retail account opportunities have only begun. It costs nothing for a shop to have a open Retail or Commercial Account.

Preferred Customer: As mentioned above, the question you will hear the most is, “Where can I just walk in somewhere to buy this stuff??!!”
You can also hand them a simple form (the same one you use to join as a dealer) and have them complete the preferred customer section, then they can buy factory direct and pay wholesale. It’s still much cheaper to buy that way although the products may need to be shipped. (We have very good shipping rates, especially on orders of two cases or more).
Preferred customer orders generate commission credits which increase your percentage and monthly commission earnings. Since AMSOIL started the preferred customer in 2000, its become the most popular channel for individual ordering.
For a small registration fee, AMSOIL will send them the complete start-up packet with the 20 page price guide and they too receive the AMSOIL ACTION News magazine.
The benefits of having and pursuing preferred customers:
Easy to sign-up. Minimal information needed. Only $10 for 6-months.
Dealer Pricing: Since they pay less for AMSOIL, they buy at increased volume.
Downline Growth: The largest % of people becoming dealers is from their prior Preferred Customer membership. Every PC packet has the Dealer upgrade form and access to a private area on the corporate site.
Self Servicing Account: Because they receive AMSOIL publications, there is not much for you to do. They keep up to date on details and industry changes and generally or eventually tell all their friends and co-workers. All this while you continue to grow your business. It’s a huge channel for sales. If you do follow-up on these and keep close contact, they will try other AMSOIL products and expand.

Catalog Income: The baseline and simplest way to earn income with AMSOIL. About 1/4 of all AMSOIL customers order through retail catalogs given to them from dealers. When a order is made through these catalogs the dealer earns a retail profit and commission. It’s that simple. Inside the catalog contains information for customers to start their own Preferred Customer account and save even more. When this happens you still earn a commission. I have a system now where we get 50% response, and I share the secrete with you. Catalog customers become Preferred Customers and I forward these leads to you. All AMSOIL Certified Dealers also receive free leads from across the US.

Local Sales: Some dealers warehouse products at their home and several dealer who have been doing this for a # of years keep inventories of several thousand dollars and supply to both customers and other dealers. Keeping an inventory is only optional. AMSOIL does not require any purchasing at all to build your dealership.
Several times yearly AMSOIL offers dealers a 10% off purchase when attending a warehouse event. Add this to the 2%- 10% purchase discount allowing you to buy up to 20% off dealer cost! Store AMSOIL and trade with local and existing dealers. Most dealers now drop-ship to customers from our 11 warehouses or set up retail accounts, then send customers to that account to buy. I do a little of all three, but the majority is now via drop shipping or I will sign them up as a preferred customer as mentioned above.

Dealer Network: This is where you end up building life-long income security. Since AMSOIL is sold through dealers, the quality and demand for AMSOIL often causes these customers to inquire and become dealers themselves. It can also be as simple as handing out your business card or working a fair, trade show with us, or responding to a lead sent by myself or AMSOIL. I have several dealers that just signed up relatives, friends in and out of state and people in their motorcycle clubs.. It’s endless and with some good effort you start seeing rows of names on your commission checks. You too will gain dealers with enormous determination. Try out the $15 six-month dealership and set a goal of 2 or 3 dealers. That’s what I did 5 years ago when I worked full time at ATT. I ended up with some great customers who lead me to dealers which I still have today. With the help of the AMSOIL Magazine and tips from my sponsor, I had a $800 per month business working behind the scenes while I worked in my cube as a engineer. I since then have sped up the pace, but at a normal part time pace with a little hard work there is no reason you can’t grow to a $1500 monthly minimum, have fun and meet some great friends. Today it all has really paid off, and now this has taken me all over the country. I see no end to the growth. Be sure to ask me about the commission credits and the percentages you make based on your dealers activity for each month.

It’s also a great chance to learn from other dealers and just have a great time next to the majestic Lake Superior.

The AMSOIL-U is structured so that the dealer may return consecutively, year after year expanding their knowledge of the company, manufacturing, quality, products, commercial and retail accounts and marketing. It’s all there.

A little about me:

I started as an AMSOIL dealer in 1999 after using AMSOIL for about 1-year in several Corvairs with air cooled engines and in a Mazda Miata I bought for road course and autocross racing. I couldn’t believe the results and was so impressed that without thinking about it, I switched my hobby time from cars and other things to learning about and marketing synthetic oil. (I wish I knew about AMSOIL when I had my International Scout)
My career background was in telephony and electronics including a full thrust ham radio hobby, but I have always spent a great deal of my free time working with restoration of engines, paying close attention to engine and transmission temperatures, turbo and ignition performance.
Many of the restorations done were partial where we didn’t rebuild the entire engine. AMSOIL Synthetics are excellent when you don’t know the background of the vehicle and want to avoid any serious advance of an existing problem. (Oil analysis is also a great consideration here)

My background in maintenance was earned from 7 years in the National Guard, part of that repairing trucks and HMMV “Hummers” (as well as repairing HF radio equipment at the same time)

In 99, little did I know that I would leave my full time job 4 years later as a RF Engineer at ATT Wireless to do this full time. The growth is tremendous and it seems to get better every day. Of course I put many more hours per day into this than average dealer but it was partially because goals I set, such as more quality time with my family, going to school to get my private pilots license, becoming that professional musician and the drive to pay off all debt which was causing me a lot of stress. The recent increase in demand has assisted in finally reaching the level where business is expanding automatically, thus we are now consistently on the top 10 and 20 dealer and sales groups in the US.

To make a long story short, AMSOIL has the training materials and staff to help you increase your knowledge at even a higher rate than available 6 years ago.
Our first three years were mostly spent building a strong sales base locally and learning from mistakes on sales calls. Making sales calls was certainly not my thing until I learned from mistakes (presenting products commercially was something completely new to me but AMSOIL has since added tools and training materials to make it much easier for us new comers). I found success after finding out what questions and concerns these businesses had, then after signing up my first dealer locally, we started closing on some successful accounts together. His personality afforded us more ground and several accounts we worked on are still strong and growing right now.
In 2003 I took the time off work to visit the AMSOIL HQ for their 30th Anniversary event which provided me with the excitement, knowledge and drive to reach Direct Jobber. That same year I put in my notice at ATT.
In October 04 I was invited to the Direct Jobber Convention in San Diego which paid for thanks to their bonus incentive program.
Today I have more than doubled my business since that convention, partly thanks to the new tools to help our dealers – created by AMSOIL’s new sales team and research department. Also the rate of success has been consummated by the new and yearly AMSOIL University.
When I made those first account calls, we were doing it from an old account training manual. With the information from AMSOIL U, we now have a more intelligent platform to earn and serve our dealers and accounts. Some of our dealers are simply naturals at this while others have been are increasing their own efforts. There is something in this for you, (some niche area) which will become second nature!!

AMSOIL continues to innovate and the market keeps creating more opportunities but just like everything else you have to do the work and sometimes it’s not easy. The only difference here is it continues to pay as it becomes easier to reach new customers. In some cases a small amount of work or meeting the right person at a trade show is all it takes to put a boost on things.

Knowing how much time it takes running other businesses or consider the time invested in developing careers of the upper middle class, the income figures could be surpassed as an AMSOIL dealer if the same energy were applied here. Definitely something to consider. It’s been done time after time. How many businesses can you build, then back away totally after several years and still receive more money per month than any salary or retirement check?

Set yourself some goals. Let’s talk about it. It took a lot of hard work to get to where I am now, but I reached this level in less than 1/2 the time it takes traditionally. It’s become more of a family business and now I am able to devote more time to our dealers helping them achieve the same Direct Jobber levels. We have a LOT of tools that work no one else seems to use.

The BEST way to succeed as a dealer is to just try out the products yourself.
