One 30oz. bottle of Diesel Recovery treats 30 gallons of fuel. Diesel fuel of poor quality (quite common) may cloud as high as 40F!! (4.4C) If you are not treating your fuel with a cold flow additive, you may need this to bail you out of trouble. If you live in southern states this product is highly recommended as many diesel owners are not prepared in sudden freezing weather or should they travel to northern states yet have non-winterized fuel in the tank.

Fast Recovery of Fuel

Diesel applications operating in extremely cold environments face some unique challenges. As the temperature drops, wax naturally found in diesel fuel begins to form crystals. The point at which wax crystals form is known as the cloud point. These wax crystals can eventually clog the fuel filter and starve the engine of fuel, preventing it from starting or even stalling out a running engine.

Diesel Recovery quickly dissolves gelled fuel to allow the operator to continue driving with minimal downtime. Diesel Recovery separates the molecular bonds of wax crystals that have agglomerated in diesel fuel. It thaws frozen fuel filters and reduces the need for a new filter, saving money and preventing an inconvenient trip to an auto parts store.

  • Quickly Dissolves Gelled Fuel

  • Performs Well in ULSD, Off-Road & Biodiesel
  • Alcohol-Free
  • Non-Corrosive

Works Well in Many Diesel Blends

The marketplace offers many different diesel fuels, all with varying quality. Diesel Recovery performs well in most diesel fuels, including ULSD, off-road and biodiesel.

Non-Corrosive, Alcohol-Free Formulation

Over extended use, alcohol has a tendency to degrade components of some fuel delivery systems. Diesel Recovery contains no alcohol, making it safe for repeated treatments. In addition, Diesel Recovery is non-corrosive and contains no chemicals that interact with fuel system components. Corrosion can damage fuel system components and lead to prematurely-clogged fuel filters.

Safety in a Bottle

Diesel fuel quality varies from one filling station to the next, and low-quality fuel can have a cloud point as high as 40°F. Keeping a bottle of Diesel Recovery on-board is cheap insurance against being towed to a service station or getting stranded somewhere in subzero temperatures.

Recommendations

One 30 oz. bottle of Diesel Recovery treats up to 30 gallons of fuel. When encountering a gelled fuel system, follow these steps for maximum effectiveness:

  1. Remove existing fuel filter.
  2. Fill fuel filter with Diesel Recovery.
  3. Re Install fuel filter.
  4. Add remaining Diesel Recovery to fuel tank. If necessary, add more as required by treat rare recommendations.
  5. Start engine and allow fuel system to circulate until full power has been restored. Note: for even quicker restoration of power, install new fuel filter instead of using existing filter.

Prevent the need of this product by making sure you have a cold flow diesel additive

Cold-Weather Performance Parameters

Our “Cold Weather” diesel fuel pre mix – AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver (ACF) effectively maintains fuel flow in cold weather, reducing the cold filter-plugging point (CFPP) by up to 34°F (19°C) in ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD). However, Cold Flow Improver must be added to diesel fuel before it reaches its cloud point, and it will not dissolve wax or liquefy diesel fuel once wax crystals have formed. This product – AMSOIL Diesel Recovery is specifically formulated to address these problems.
Many competitive products make great claims regarding pour point, leading consumers to believe their products are superior when they actually have an inferior CFPP. Once fuel surpasses its cloud point, the wax crystals begin to
clog the fuel filter. The CFPP temperature is a more important characteristic than pour point because the engine will not run if fuel cannot pass through the fuel filter.

Amsoil's Diesel Recovery dissolves frozen diesel fuel beyond other brands. The key is thawing the filter - Idling is too slow - Amsoil's Diesel Recovery works instantly.

The Key is thawing the filter – Idling takes too long to thaw the filter in most cars and trucks, while AMSOIL’s Diesel Recovery instantly dissolves gelled fuel for quicker driving after start.

City of Richardson, TX is using Amsoil’s Diesel Recovery in their main diesel tanks for city vehicles and busses. The product in bulk is less cost than other de-gelling agents and works perfect as a cold flow improver. Every year in the past they have had costly and dangerous problems with vehicles not starting on those days when the temperature drops just below 40F.

With Amsoil’s Diesel Recovery – Problem Solved!

In Texas and other southern markets #1 Diesel isn’t going to be in many pumps. Be prepared with Amsoil’s Diesel Recovery – great for larger storage tanks or emergency use. Otherwise try our other product you can keep in your tank throughout the winter and benefit from the injector cleaner & lubricant as well – That’s the AMSOIL DFC Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow. But as a minimum Diesel Recovery by AMSOIL is the easy choice to prevent cold weather starting issues on the road!

#1 Diesel Fuel Considerations.

One traditional solution to cold-weather problems in diesel engines is the use of #1 diesel fuel, which is diesel fuel diluted with kerosene. While #1 diesel fuel has an advantage in low-temperature operability, there are also several disadvantages. The energy content of #1 diesel fuel is about 95 percent of #2 diesel fuel, resulting in reduced fuel economy and less horsepower. In addition, the kerosene used in #1 diesel fuel provides less lubrication for the fuel pump and fuel distributor, increasing the likelihood for wear on these critical components.

Use AMSOIL Diesel Fuel Injector Additive to solve these problems and in the winter time use the Cold Flow formula which is available as a mix or stand alone. A case makes for a low cost solution which treats up to 960 gallons of fuel.

Diesel Recovery Proven Superior

In order to test the performance capabilities of AMSOIL Diesel Recovery, AMSOIL commissioned an independent laboratory to perform an evaluation. Three types of diesel fuel were used in the testing, including ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD), B2 biodiesel and B5 biodiesel. Three samples of each fuel-type were tested: one treated with AMSOIL Diesel Recovery, one treated with Power Service Diesel 911 and one untreated sample. Diesel Recovery was administered at the recommended treat rate of 30 oz. per 30 gallons of fuel. The treat rate for Diesel 911 varies according to package size; Power Service’s maximum recommended dosage of 32 oz. per 30 gallons of fuel was used in this evaluation.

As the results demonstrate, AMSOIL Diesel Recovery delivers superior performance. In ULSD, Diesel Recovery reduced the fuel’s pour point by 27°C and the CFPP by 17°C. Diesel 911, on the other hand, only reduced the pour point of ULSD by 10.5°C and actually increased the fuel’s CFPP by .5°C. In B2 biodiesel, AMSOIL Diesel Recovery reduced the fuel’s pour point 9°C and reduced the CFPP 9.75°C; while Diesel 911 increased the fuel’s pour point 5.25°C and reduced the CFPP only 6°C. Diesel Recovery reduced the pour point of B5
biodiesel 24°C and reduced the CFPP 16°C. Diesel 911 reduced the pour point of B5 18°C and again increased the CFPP 1.75°C.

Dependable Performance

As state, provincial and federal governments continue to impose new mandates on diesel fuel regarding sulfur and bio-matter content, it is increasingly important to offer products that perform well in all available types of fuel.
While fuel systems and fuel quality vary, AMSOIL Diesel Recovery delivers dependable performance in all diesel fuels, including ULSD, off-road and biodiesel. In addition, Diesel Recovery is alcohol-free, making it safe for repeated treatments.
